Product Line:
SCITX/Catalla.Host
This application provides user, resource, and content management
for streaming media "hosting". We define hosting as
"providing streaming media services to multiple internal
or external costumers." SCITX/Catalla.Host provides hierarchical
user management allowing the system administrator to create multiple
virtual "sites" (or channels as QTV calls them) each
with its own content management workgroup.
SCITX/Catalla.Share
A subset of SCITX/Catalla.Host that only supports content management
by a single workgroup.
SCITX/Catalla.Show
This application provides a front-end web-browser interface for
streaming media portals. We have developed portal interfaces for
some customers and others have used .Host as a back-end for a
separately developed front-end. With .Show we are creating an
"out of box" solution for presenting streaming media
to a large audience.
SCITX/Catalla.Show provides
features like self-registration, viewer preferences management,
streaming plug-in detection, large-thumbnail display of content,
content popularity ranking, etc. that are essential to a successful
streaming media site. SCITX/Catalla.Show supports pay-per-view,
subscription, and advertising based revenue models. SCITX/Catalla
also offers a powerful interest-based ad insertion technology
that can be used to insert ads into a media stream tailored to
the interests of a specific viewer.
SCITX/Catalla.Flow
Although SCITX/Catalla.Host has workflow features useful for internet
publishing of video content, we are developing SCITX/Catalla.Flow
to provide workflow capabilities that can be used for production
and editing of video content, even when the content is to be distributed
on DVD, tape or film. Features to be introduced with SCITX/Catalla.Flow
include - remote "proxy" editing of content, frame-by-frame
collaborative discussion, etc. We can demonstrate some of this
technology now, but we are not planning a general release until
January.
SCITX/Catalla.AppServer
Catalla's core technology used to build all Catalla applications
as well as custom-developed applications for our enterprise customers.

Enterprise IT Organizations
You are dealing with a range of needs in different departments.
Marketing wants QuickTime support. Manufacturing needs Windows
Media support and customer service needs Real Media. You want
to be able to centralize the administration of streaming servers,
the disk storage of large audio and video files, and, of course,
you want to be able to restrict and monitor bandwidth from the
same central location. You want to provide simple self-service
to end-users while maintaining control. You also need to track
usage by department and bill your internal customers based upon
their usage. You need SCITX/Catalla.Host.
Reduce Costs
SCITX/Catalla.Host allows you to reduce costs by consolidating
your servers and storage and centralizing your management. By
automating management across multiple streaming servers and automating
the workflow of users and administrators, you reduce labor costs
and the probability of costly errors.
Boost Revenues
SCITX/Catalla.Host allows you to reach new customers and provide
more services to existing customers - whether they are internal
or external customers.
Built with SCITX/Catalla.AppServer
SCTIX/Catalla.Host was developed using SCITX/Catalla.AppServer
platform. This means SCITX/Catalla.AppServer or your custom application
will benefit from the powerful current and future features of
SCITX/Catalla.AppServer.
